Body Composition

What it actually is

BMI tells you nothing about composition — a muscular person and a flabby person can have identical BMI. Healthy ranges: women 21–35% body fat (lean to fitness range); men 8–24%. Visceral fat (around organs) is the most dangerous.

Why it matters for Pakistanis

Two people can lose 5 kg — one from fat, one from muscle. Body composition tracking via DEXA scan or InBody analyser shows what's actually changing. Available at major Karachi/Lahore gyms and clinics for Rs. 2,000–6,000.
