What it actually is
Cortisol mobilises glucose for short-term action. But chronically elevated cortisol — from poor sleep, chronic stress, over-exercise — drives insulin resistance, belly fat, sugar cravings, and PCOS symptoms.
Why it matters for Pakistanis
Diet alone won't fix cortisol. Sleep 7+ hours, manage stress, avoid over-fasting, get morning sunlight, and limit caffeine after noon. Especially important for women with PCOS.
