Methi (Fenugreek)

Also known as: Fenugreek, Trigonella foenum-graecum

What it actually is

Methi seeds contain galactomannan, a soluble fibre that slows carbohydrate absorption. Multiple trials show 8–15% reduction in fasting glucose in pre-diabetic adults consuming 5–25g daily.

Why it matters for Pakistanis

1 tsp of methi seeds soaked overnight, drained, and consumed first thing in the morning is a no-cost diabetes intervention. Methi leaves in your sabzi — a daily benefit.
